Batman & Oscar -- You. Complete. Me.

Well, the Academy, in all its infinite wisdom decided not to honor The Dark Knight with any major Oscar nominations save for the expected Supporting Actor nod for Heath's brilliant take on the Joker (which is reflected below.) It's too bad too because if TDK couldn't break the superhero movie glass ceiling, it's going to be a long time before another comic book superhero gets the Oscar love. Still, the outcry regarding Batman's snub is an achievement in its own right, I guess. (Who woulda thunk that the Oscar prognosticators would be in shock--shock, I say--over a Batman film being snubbed by Oscar?!)
